Richard Epstein of the University of Chicago and NYU Law Schools is now writing a column entitled “The Libertarian” for Forbes.com. The most recent column as of this writing is on a topic that Epstein knows a good deal about – medical and drug economics. Here is a teaser:
“This past week, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the blockbuster case of Wyeth v. Levine, which posed one simple question. Once the Food and Drug Administration has approved the warnings about drugs licensed for sale, may a plaintiff bring state law action for damages on the ground that those warnings are inadequate?
The principled answer to that question is a resounding ‘no.’”
